Description of the participants: Between the ages of 15-20, 13 students, and Intermediate level.

Info about the type of Social Media/Website: We will be using an online app to meet with them.

Project start date:10.10.2022

Project ending date: 01.01.2023

The workload:

We will all contribute to planning the lessons as well as our individual parts.

Mahmut Furkan Koçak: He is creating videos, which we will be using as materials.

Sevcan Yiğit: She is handling the visual materials we are going to use.

Ulaş Erbil Arslan: He is creating and finding the worksheets for the students.

Fatih Ulutaş: He is handling technical aspects, the online tools that we are using.

Expected results:

In what way you will make a difference in your community when this project is completed

     We carry out this project in order to help students catch up to their normal classes since the classroom structure in Turkey is really crowded and it is not possible for the teacher to help every single student, teach them that English is a tool of communication rather than just a subject through our classes in which the students will be active, inform them about important opportunities and such.

Week 1

     The first class was mostly focused on vocabulary, we used a mix of realia and pictures to teach about Weather and Emotions. While teaching, we also exposed them to the grammar structure and rules, however, the focus was the vocabulary. Since the intermediate level, we chose to spend the first week reviewing and assessing their knowledge.

We have used the worksheets below to teach them;

Teaching in an Online Environment

 First of all, you need to choose a video conferencing tool that is free to use and easy to understand.      There are multiple video conferencing tools that we can make use of... Discord, Zoom, Skype, and Microsoft Teams are one of the most popular ones among such tools.  Discord can be distracting since it is widely used among people playing video games which would be detrimental to creating an environment for education. Skype is not used as much even though it is still widely known, the reason is that they have not updated the platform until they lost nearly all of their users. Microsoft Teams can be confusing at times, however, it can be linked to a school's system for easier access and automated calendars to an extent. Another downside is that there can be conflicts between the platform and the school's system. Zoom is the platform that is the most practical based on my observation, it gives more control to the host/presenter. It is the most friendly one for teaching, in m

TPACK and SAMR models

               TPACK( Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge Framework) Model is a model that inegrates the new technological knowledge with the other knowledges (Pedagogical and Content Knowledges) as well as the other knowledges with each other to form new kinds of knowledges such as Technological Content Knowledge (TCK), Technological Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK), Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK). The combination of all of the knowledges it TPACK( Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge Framework). For more detailed information, click here.      SAMR model is about redifining your way of teaching with the aid of technology, however this redefinition does not start immedieately.       You first Enchance your teaching by Substituting the content of your class, for example a textbook, with technology and then augmenting it by using a technological tool to replacing it.      After Enchantment comes the Transformation, you trans form a class by modifiying it. This means you mo
